NPN & PNP NO NC Proximity Switches – experiments with function and Pull Down Resistors

In a previous video I did some experiments with and NPN NO Switch used as limit switch for my Stainless OX CNC. Later I realized that four different types exist: NPN and PNP both in a NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed) version.
In this video I experiment with the four switches to see how the work and find some resistor combinations that will work as pull down to give a signal of approx. 5V that fit most Break out Boards.
FOR use as limit switch I would recommend to use one of the NO switches. I do not think it matters what you choose NPN or PNP as the signal direction can be set in the software (e.g. Mach3).
